Equipment

Shield - A shield will increases a characters maximum energy by the amount of the shield
attained. Shields will degenerate over time and can not be combined with another
shield to form a more powerful shield.

Sword - When a player is in a battle, the sword is added to his/her strength to determine
damage by attacks, such as melee and skirmish. The sword value plus the strength
is directly the damage done by nick. Swords, just like shields, can not be combined
             and will degenerate.

Quicksilver - The speed of a player's is increased by the square root of his/her quicksilver
                    rounded up. Quicksilver also degenerates.

Mana - Mana is the material used in spells. Some spells have a fixed cost while others allow
you to specify how much mana to use, except for All Or Nothing which does not cost
mana but takes 1 if you have some. See the spells page for more information.

Gold - A player's gold can only be spent purchasing items at a trading post. If a player
collects too much gold, it will begin to slow him/her down. Although it varies between
character classes, the average character may carry 1000 plus 175 per level gold
without speed penalties, which leads to dying of greed. All gold collected in the realm
          will be taxed.

Gems - Gems are found on the corpses of the more powerful monsters in the realm. Each
gem can be sold for 1000 gold at posts but only weighs half as much as one coin.
Gems are also subject to the king's tax.

Blessing - Blessings is a powerful item which will always give you first attack in monster
combat. In IT combat though, the defender will get first attack, bless or no bless.

Staff - Staves are found on the corpses of stronger monsters, and with it a player can
become steward at The Lord's Chamber. This can not be done if a king or queen
reigns. Staves are lost when used and cashed in at level 500 for 1000 gp. Characters
may only be steward when they are between level 10 and 500.

Crowns - With a crown, which is only gained by destroying the One Ring, a character can
enter The Lord's Chamber and become king or queen. The crown is lost when this is
done and combat will ensue if another king or queen is already at 0,0. Crowns are
cashed in for gold when the player reaches level 2000.

Palantir - A palantir can be used to search for and find the holy grail, but it will also locate
corpses. All players who possess one can see the coordinates of players who are
outside your circle and/or cloaked. Also the Palantir allows characters into channel
               8.

Virgin - A virgin subdues a Unicorn. If successful, you will gain experience and treasure as if
you had killed it. Unfortunately Unicorns are also fairly picky about the morals of the
            player, too.

Wand - A wand can be used to search for and find the holy grail, but it will also locate
corpses. This is more accurate than a palintir. Wand also can be used to cast Force
Field, Increase Might, and Haste all at once for a cheap amount of mana. Also Mana
bolt damages will be increased while this is in the character's possession.
Unfortunately only Councils and higher can obtain this, by finding the Council Trove.

Backpack - Lets the player hold ore and fish. This is a quest item.

Fishing Rod - Lets the player fish in ponds. This is a quest item.

Pickaxe - Lets the player mine in mine spots. This is a quest item.

Ring - Rings are carried by Nazguls and The Dark Lord. When used, all rings fully heal the
player, and cause him/her to hit much harder in battle. Some rings are permament, but
some rings will disappear after a number of uses and some will slowly consume the
wearer, turning them into an Idiot.

Holy Water - These vials can auto-kill faeries, which are seven of the game's monsters.

Amulets - Amulets protect the user from cursed treasure and are destroyed in the process. More powerful
                curses will consume more amulets.

Charms - More effective than amulets, as only 1 is needed to stop a curse. Also can be used in conjunction
with a blessing to overthrow The Dark Lord. If a character has enough amulets and a charm, the
amulets will be used first to protect the player.

Cloak    - Allows a player to cloak.

Teleporter - The teleporter is used to allow players to teleport. It is rumored that this ancient item can be
obtained in the quest center by doing a lot of quests.
